Survey, focus groups are under way to determine key areas of need.

CHICO, Calif., MAY 3, 2013 –Three area hospitals – Orchard Hospital, Enloe Medical Center and Feather River Hospital – and the Butte County Public Health Department have partnered to complete a county-wide community health needs assessment to identify and address unmet health care needs. As part of this assessment, the partners have developed an anonymous community-wide survey that they are encouraging Butte County residents to complete by Sunday, June 9.

The survey asks about a range of health issues, including nutrition and exercise habits, general health and insurance information, and it asks residents to identify the most pressing issues facing Butte County families. The survey is available below in a form you can fill out online and can also be made available in print form, in English and Spanish, by contacting the following representative:

Under the Affordable Care Act, hospitals throughout the country are now required to conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment every three years and to develop a community benefits plan in response to the findings.
Feedback from the anonymous survey, along with information gathered through focus groups and publicly available data, will help the hospitals identify and prioritize the current health needs of Butte County residents. With that information, they will each develop a three-year plan using programs and services offered by the hospitals, as well as resources available through local agencies, to help address identified needs.
