    Steve Lee Stark, CEO

    Steve Lee Stark is a graduate of the University of Drury in Springfield, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Business Administration and two Master’s degrees from Bellevue University, Nebraska: Hospital Administration and Organizational Performance. Steve serves as chief executive officer at Orchard Hospital. Steve is responsible for aligning the hospital mission and vision with physicians, the board of directors and communities in Butte County. Steve works close with the CFO, COO/CNO and managers of Orchard Hospital to accomplish goals that create a healthcare delivery system that is safer and more efficient for its patients. 

    Steve came to Orchard Hospital in January 1, 2015, Steve’s healthcare career began over 15 years ago serving as a hospital information technology director. Since then, Steve has been promoted to more advanced roles including Senior Infrastructure Engineer, Chief Information Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer. Steve has spoken to groups across the country about integrating continuous process improvement and technology into daily workflow to provide better patient care. Today, Steve is considered a leader in organizational strategy and has a black belt in Lean and Six Sigma, which is evident in his management style. Steve is also a Studer Group® Champion.

    Tracy Atkins, CNO-DON

    Tracy Atkins is a graduate of The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Averett University. An RN with 27 years of nursing experience and over 30 years’ of healthcare experience, she also holds an MBA and Certification as a Nurse Manager and Leader. Tracy is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Tracy is Orchard Hospital’s nurse executive responsible for clinical operations and nursing services. Her primary career focus has been clinical informatics, education, and leadership in Critical Access and Community Hospitals and Services.

    Tracy came to Orchard Hospital in 2011 to lead the implementation of electronic health records. In January 2012, she transitioned to Chief Operating and Chief Nursing Officer. Tracy led the project for Orchard Hospital to achieve and maintain Organization wide quality driven accreditation through DNV-GL (Det Norske Veritas).

    Lenny Verser JR., CFO

    Lenny Verser joined Orchard Hospital in May of 2020 and is a graduate of Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. He is also a graduate of Lincoln Law School of Sacramento where he obtained his Juris Doctorate degree. Lenny is a Certified Public Accountant and a licensed Attorney.

    Lenny is responsible for the finance, accounting, medical records and business office functions at Orchard. He works closely with the hospital’s administration team and other departments to ensure sound financial management activities and fiscally responsible operations.

    Prior to joining Orchard, Lenny held financial leadership roles in both non-profit and for profit health care organizations and spent several years working on the Medi-Cal and Medicare programs. He has over 25 years of health care finance, accounting and contract administration experience and has a firm understanding of government accounting and oversight regulations associated with the health care industry.

    John D. Helvey, CIO

    John Helvey is a graduate of the University of Phoenix, Fountain Valley, CA with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He has been in healthcare Industry for 24 years starting his career at the University of California Irvine Medical Center Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Anesthesiology, and the Institute for Brain Aging and Dementia. He then continued serving in the Behavioral Healthcare Industry for 17 years before joining Orchard Hospital. He serves as the Board Secretary for Sac Valley Med Share, the Regional Health Information Exchange serving 11 Counties including Butte County. He has over 20+ years’ experience in Business, Maintenance, and IT services in the Healthcare Industry.

    In March of 2014, John joined Orchard Hospital as the Director of Information Technology and transitioned in May of 2016 to the Chief Information Officer. He also provides executive oversight to Orchard Hospital’s Information Technology Department, Imaging and Laboratory Services, Health Information Management, Engineering, Employee Safety, and serves as the Privacy and Security Officer.
