Wound Care

The Medical Specialty Center treats wounds and provides ongoing wound care for wounds that are not healing properly. Wound healing is a complex process and when disrupted, specialized intervention is often necessary. We take an intensive, multidisciplinary approach to focus on healing wounds as rapidly as possible and also treat the underlying causes that compromise the healing process in a convenient outpatient setting.

A surprising number of people require wound care at some point in their lives. A minimum of 15 percent of patients with diabetes will have chronic, non-healing wounds during their lifetimes. There are many other conditions that can contribute to non-healing wounds, such as peripheral vascular disease, arterial or venous ulcers, traumatic injury, radiation therapy, lymphedema and complications following surgery.

Our medical team provides state of the art treatment for wounds including:

  • Leg and foot ulcers
  • Pressure ulcers
  • Non-healing surgical Wounds
  • Burns
  • Wounds associated with cancer, diabetes, or insect bites
  • Wounds associated with Immunological Disorders
